Cartier · Tampa, Florida
Your Timekeeper brings Cartier to you, wherever you are in Tampa Bay, so a Santos or a Tank gets tried on your own wrist in your own light rather than under a jeweler's glass. What we hold is short by design: shaped cases wear their history more plainly than sports steel does, so a piece has to earn its place in the Case before it is ever offered.
Cartier is what we recommend when the brief says dress watch and means it. The Santos came first, designed in 1904 so Alberto Santos-Dumont could read the time without letting go of his controls; the Santos 100 is the larger, later reading of it, exposed screws and all. The Tank has held the same lines since 1917, and the Tank Française is the two-tone way into them, with the blued hands and Roman dial the model has carried for a century, worn most often by people who want gold on the wrist without wearing all gold. A Panthère surfaces less often, but when one comes through with the original bracelet intact we hold it.
Shaped cases survive polishing worse than sports steel does, so we grade Cartier tampa stock harder than most sellers think necessary. A full set matters more here than on a Submariner: the original box, the papers, and ideally the service history, since a movement serviced outside the maison's own network can complicate a resale later. Cases get checked under raking light for the soft, rounded lugs a bad polish leaves behind, and we would rather hold an honestly worn piece than a pretty one ground thin.
