Tudor is the door into this side of collecting, and it gets the same paperwork standard as its older sibling. The Black Bay 54 is the reference we recommend most often, a compact 37 mm in this lagoon-blue dial, with proportions taken from dive watches Rolex itself no longer builds. It wears smaller and lighter than most people expect from a dive watch, which is exactly the point on a Tampa wrist in July. The Pelagos Ultra is the other argument, a 43 mm titanium tool watch built for real depth and lighter on the wrist than any photograph suggests, with a case finish that shrugs off the kind of daily knocks a dress watch never survives. Entry price does not mean entry scrutiny. Every Tudor we offer comes with the full set, box and warranty card and whatever service history the last owner kept, and cases are checked under raking light the same as a Submariner would be, since a polished bevel costs the next owner more than a scratch ever will. We turn away more Black Bays than we take, because the pre-owned market for Tudor is full of watches that have been worn hard and priced as if they haven't. What reaches the Case has been through that filter first.
